"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2
Remember, the soul consists of our mind, emotions and intellect. The bible tells us that we are not to try to mimmick the world's way of doing things, but we should renew our minds. If we are trying to prove what God's perfect will is, we can only renew our minds with the Word of God. Study the Word! Moreover, James tells us that we should be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving our own selves (James 1:22). When I was coming up, we would use the statement: "Talking loud but saying nothing." In other words, your actions speak for you. If any of us are saying one thing and doing something else, we are deceiving ourselves. We must let the Word of God be our mode of operation. After all, it is our guide for life on earth. I have heard some people say that the word, "bible," is an acronym for: "basic instructions before leaving earth." I tend to believe that acronym because God did leave His Word for us to guide us throughout our lives.
Sometimes, we get confused because we go through trials and tribulations. James tells us that we should "count it all joy when we fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience"...(James 1:2-3). God always gives us a way of escape when we put our trust in Him.
Sometimes we make bad decisions and cause those consequences to come into our lives. That is my story and that is why I wrote, "Living Past the Pain: Reflections of the Past." I have lived past the pain of my past because God delivered me from that horrible "pit." My book can be used for your emotional healing. If you or someone you know is being or has been abused, you need to read my story. It will encourage you and give you hope for deliverance.
